Probably no more impressive views of the Caucasus and the river can be found along the entire length of the Alazani Valley (80 km) as it opens from the balconies of our hotel. From the wide terraces here you can enjoy the views of the open fields, the mystical panorama from Gremi and Nekresi until the territory of Saingilo.

Idea
The company “Kardanakhi 1888” was founded in 2013. The main goal and vision was to take Georgian wine and hospitality to a new level, according to the traditions and customs that we have had for a long time. That is why “Ampelo Resort” hotel and winery was created.

History
The area where the wine house is located is part of the estate of the famous prince Nikoloz Abkhaz and Nino Grigol Chavchavadze.
Ilia Chavchavadze also spent his childhood years in this estate, who often visited his sister Nino. General Konstantine (Kote), the leader of the Abkhazian-Georgian aristocracy (Marshal), was born here in this family of famous Kakhetian princes.
Later in the 80s of the 19th century, the land was bought by Count Sergei Sheremetyev, invited renowned agronomists, and after much research and study, planted vineyards and cellars. The list of honorary guests at the opening of the estate included the family of Emperor Alexander III and the young Nicholas.
